Lullaby

Lullaby is another audacious, oddball narrative from the darkly comic mind of Chuck Palahniuk. When a reporter investigating cases of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome notices a common book of poems by each crib, it sets in motion a series of events that leads to a bizarre road trip to track down all copies of the book to stop the killing. As I’ve come to expect, Palahniuk’s prose overflows with so many original ideas that come at every twist and turn, but which he brilliantly pulls together in a way that is thoroughly satisfying and totally unpredictable. Palahniuk has a hyper-kinetic style all his own, and it is perfectly on display here.
