Michael Crichton always had the uncanny ability to take a technology that seems on its face to be a remarkably amazing breakthrough and then turn it sinister. In his novel Prey, that technology is nanocomputers, and the results are quite terrifying. Crichton writes about the science and technology like an expert, and unfolds the novel with suspense, intrigue, and thrills like only a master storyteller can.
