The Reversal

The Reversal by Michael Connelly once again brings together LAPD homicide detective Harry Bosch and defense attorney Mickey Haller, but this time they’re on the same side, working together to send a once-convicted child murderer back to prison. Chapters alternate between Haller’s first person narrative and the omniscient narrator’s account of Bosch’s movements. This is a style Connelly has used before and it keeps the story moving swiftly through investigations surrounding the case as well as the thrilling courtroom maneuverings. Connelly delivers a fast-paced ride and a joy to read from first to last as usual, while also managing to expose some of the confusing, contradictory inner workings of the justice system.
