Eat Bacon, Don’t Jog

Eat Bacon, Don’t Jog is easily one of the catchiest and more provocative titles that just begs to casual passersby to pick it up and see what it is all about. I, for one, am incredibly glad I did pick it up, and once I started to read the short essays, I had trouble stopping—I always wanted to know more. With easy to understand explanations, and scientific truth backing his assertions, author Grant Petersen explains how the human body processes different foods, reacts to different exercises, and why carbohydrates are so detrimental. Interesting, insightful, and often funny, this book was a revelation to me as my eternal losing battle with being overweight despite vigorous exercise and cutting calories finally began to make some sense. Having instituted many of Petersen’s suggestions, within one week, I felt a profound change for the better. I could sing this book’s praises all day, but I’ll finish instead by citing its subtitle because I think it is absolutely true and that it sums up the book’s bottom line perfectly. “Get Strong. Get Lean. No Bullshit.”
